Reviews:

"The Spanish Conquest is a fantastic read! The characters, both primary and secondary are compelling. The tenderness between Luis and Cordelia is beautiful. I loved how Cordelia just jumped right in and started taking care of Luz, and how she loved her unconditionally. The many mean-spirited women that are jealous and want to keep Cordelia and Luis from being happy added just the right amount of emotional tension. Cordelia's uncertainty about Luis' love is endearing and makes her seem very real. I also liked how Luis was able to really look at himself and understand his own strengths and weaknesses. This book is a keeper and one that I am very happy to recommend!" - 5 Cups, Regina, Coffee Time Romance
"This is another fine work by Ms. Hofman with two likeable main characters and a sensual love story with enough complications to keep things interesting. Cordelia can be a little insipid at times, but is likeable none the less. Her growing love for both Luis and his daughter Luz make this warm hearted story an easy read. Luis is strong, sexy and very protective of his wife. I did feel that I was missing something when the romance of her cousin Crystal and Leandros was mentioned, but hopefully that means another book is in the offing. The subplots of Phillip and Lady Rosemary and Diego and Maria and their marriages really highlight the rare thing that Cordelia and Luis have. I really like Ms. Hofman's Florida town where the nice girls win out over the witches every time and where happy ever after love stories bloom." - 4 hearts, Maura Frankman, The Romance Studio
"This delightful story is just the fairy tale that many young girls dream of - I know I did when I was young. The beautiful young lady meets the incredibly hunky, dark, handsome, wealthy man; he romantically sweeps her off her feet, and adoringly provides everything she could possibly desire. She in turn blesses him with love, friendship, enjoys his attentions, tenderly accepts his baby girl and lovingly births his children. This was an easy, very enjoyable happy-ever-after read, well worth my time, and I would recommend it to both of my daughters and readers who enjoy a good romance." - 5 Enchantments, Desiree, Enchanting Reviews
"The Spanish Conquest is an endearing tale with admirable characters and a romantic love story. The “innocent young woman and the handsome millionaire” storyline has been written so many times, yet never with such a heartfelt undercurrent as this. Cordelia is a genuinely caring woman who does not have a manipulative bone in her body. She instantly rescues and falls in love with an infant in dire need of love and nurturing, but also a father who is in need of the same things. Luis is a typical alpha-male, strong and self assured, but also certain of his monetary worth and his social status. He is intelligent, and has the foresight to recognize a good thing when he finds it, but is also willing to fight for it when it is threatened. The secondary cast adds emotional tension and depth to the storyline, keeping this reader eagerly turning pages. Author, Kate Hofman has gained a new fan in this reader; I will be purchasing more of her books as they are released. If you love a good love story with full-bodied characters, you will love The Spanish Conquest." - 4 Kisses, Lettetia, Two Lips Reviews
